Infrared scattered-light measurement with a 90° optical receiver

Suspended Solids / Sludge Analyzer
A slimmer SUS316L optical sensor for wastewater process, plant outlet, municipal-network and industrial suspended-solids monitoring up to 50000 mg/L.
PSS-800 and PSS-600 retain separate ranges, accuracy, dimensions and process fit. Final configuration is controlled by the project confirmation document.

Recommended process fit
Activated-sludge process
Track mixed-liquor and sludge concentration through biological-treatment stages.
Secondary clarification
Monitor solids trends for settling, return-sludge and excess-sludge decisions.
Industrial wastewater
Measure suspended-solids changes in industrial treatment and discharge projects.
Municipal outlet and networks
Add continuous solids monitoring to plant outlets, drainage channels and network stations.
Items to confirm
First identify whether the target is suspended solids, mixed liquor or sludge concentration, then confirm normal, peak and installation conditions.
- 01Minimum, normal, peak and alarm concentration
- 02Aeration basin, return sludge, clarifier, outlet or industrial discharge point
- 03Sludge homogeneity, bubbles, coating, cleaning and maintenance interval
- 04Pressure, velocity, material, cable, 4–20 mA, relays and RS485

Selection questions
What is the main difference between PSS-800 and PSS-600?+
PSS-800 provides wide-range configurations up to 120000 mg/L. PSS-600 uses a slimmer sensor and has a documented upper range of 50000 mg/L.
Why does sludge homogeneity affect accuracy?+
Optical results are influenced by particle distribution, bubbles and sludge homogeneity, so selection must confirm both range and the real process point.
Can the product image be used as a dimensional drawing?+
No. It provides consistent public presentation. Dimensions, interfaces, accessories and mounting come from the datasheet and order confirmation.
Tell us what you need to measure.
We will respond with a recommended configuration, supporting documentation and quotation.
