Combined infrared absorption and dual-beam scattered-light photometry for continuous transparency measurement

Online Transparency Analyzer
A self-cleaning optical sensor for continuous water-transparency measurement. It combines infrared absorption and scattered-light photometry for black-odorous water grading and surface-water projects.
The 2–100 cm range, accuracy rule, pressure, velocity, dimensions, protection and interfaces are stored separately. The black transmitter image is the approved FUNEL export presentation; final configuration remains subject to project confirmation.
Measurement principle and product highlights

Source-supported applications
Black-odorous water grading
Continuously track transparency as an important grading indicator for black-odorous water bodies.
Municipal rivers and lakes
Monitor transparency changes in urban inland rivers, lakes and restoration projects.
Aquaculture
Observe water-clarity trends in ponds and managed aquaculture water.
Landscape water
Add continuous transparency measurement to managed landscape-water systems.
Items to confirm
Online transparency selection requires more than the 2–100 cm range: actual water, solids, color, bubbles, fouling, hydraulics and installation conditions must also be confirmed.
- 01Water-body type, monitoring objective and transparency-grading requirement
- 02Minimum, normal and maximum transparency
- 03Suspended solids, color, bubbles and sensor fouling
- 04Velocity, pressure, mounting, automatic cleaning and maintenance access
- 05Cable, power, 4–20 mA, relays and Modbus RS485

Selection questions
How is PDS-300 different from a turbidity analyzer?+
PDS-300 reports transparency in centimeters over a documented 2–100 cm range. PTU and PLTU analyzers report turbidity in NTU; the parameters are not interchangeable.
How is accuracy determined?+
The source specifies ±0.3 cm or 5% of reading, whichever is greater.
Is a transmitter always required?+
The source notes that the digital sensor can be integrated without a transmitter, but communication, power, display and control must be confirmed for the project.
Can the website image replace a technical drawing?+
No. The clean image is for public presentation. The Ø60 × 254 mm sensor dimensions, transmitter dimensions and mounting remain controlled by the datasheet and order confirmation.
