Select online blue-green algae measurement by water matrix, turbidity and spatial distribution

PBA-800A uses pigment fluorescence for continuous blue-green algae measurement across 0–300,000 cells/mL, with a 200 cells/mL detection limit for source water, surface water and aquaculture.

Evaluate algae distribution, turbidity and point layout together

The supplied sheet notes that blue-green algae can be non-uniformly distributed and recommends multipoint monitoring. It also documents turbidity below 50 NTU, so selection cannot rely on one cell-concentration value.

01

Water matrix and objective

State water-plant intake, drinking-water source, aquaculture, surface water or landscape water and the algal trend to be observed.

02

Concentration and turbidity

Provide minimum, normal and peak cells/mL plus normal and upset turbidity.

03

Points and mounting

Describe stratification, number and distribution of points, immersion location, pressure, mounting and maintenance access.

04

Interfaces and delivery

Confirm cable, 4–20 mA, relays, RS485, power, quantity and project destination.

02 · Product model

Configured with a black FUNEL single-parameter transmitter, three 4–20 mA outputs, three relays, Modbus RS485 and an IP68 sensor.

03 · Operating applications

Typical blue-green algae monitoring applications

For water-plant intake, drinking-water sources, aquaculture, surface water and landscape water. Use multiple monitoring points where algae distribution is non-uniform.

Water-plant intake

Track blue-green algae changes in raw water before treatment.

Drinking-water source

Add continuous pigment-fluorescence monitoring to source-water protection projects.

Aquaculture

Observe blue-green algae trends in ponds and managed aquaculture water.

Surface and landscape water

Monitor lakes, rivers, reservoirs and managed landscape water.

04 · Common questions

Confirm this information before an inquiry

Why is multipoint monitoring recommended?+

Blue-green algae can be distributed unevenly, so one point may not represent the full site. The supplied sheet therefore recommends a project-specific multipoint layout.

Can it be used directly above 50 NTU?+

The documented condition is turbidity below 50 NTU. Higher-turbidity duty requires review of the actual sample and data before suitability can be confirmed.

Can the rhodamine B accuracy be converted to percent of reading?+

No. The source references the signal level of a 1 ppb rhodamine B dye sample, so the page preserves that wording.

Can the product image be used as a dimensional drawing?+

No. It provides consistent public presentation. Dimensions and mounting remain controlled by the specifications and project confirmation.
