Selection & serviceFrom selection to installation
Plan the sensor, mounting and control connection as one measurement system. An aeration tank, a river station and a seawater installation need different installation and maintenance arrangements.
Before choosing a configuration
- State the water source and measurement point: wastewater aeration, treated effluent, surface water or aquaculture. Include normal and peak dissolved oxygen, temperature and pressure.
- Identify freshwater or seawater service when requesting the wetted material. Confirm the sensor body, mounting hardware and cable as a complete configuration.
- Specify the receiving PLC or controller, required 4–20 mA channels, Modbus RS485 connection and alarm functions. Confirm which outputs are supplied by the transmitter.
Installation planning
- Before ordering a bracket or flow assembly, confirm immersion depth, available space, process pressure and a safe route for removing the probe for inspection.
- Agree the measuring position with the process engineer. Check fouling and bubble exposure, cable routing and access to the optical cap before commissioning.
- Use the wiring diagram and mounting drawing for the ordered configuration. Confirm power, signal polarity and cable length before connecting the transmitter or PLC.
Cleaning and verification
- Include optical-cap inspection and cleaning access in the maintenance plan. Set inspection frequency from the actual water and fouling conditions; optical measurement does not remove the need for cleaning.
- Ask for the model-specific air or sample calibration procedure and keep verification records. Agree the cleaning method, replacement-cap procedure and spares with the supplied operating instructions.
Use this checklist for project planning. Follow the operating instructions for the supplied configuration for wiring, fitting, cleaning and calibration.
