01 · Start with the process

ORP selection needs more than one mV value

ORP depends on the oxidation-reduction system in the water, electrode condition, temperature, fouling and installation. Range, material, mounting, cable and control interface must be confirmed together.

Water and control objective

Identify disinfection, aeration, anoxic/anaerobic treatment, industrial reaction or outlet trend monitoring.

Normal and upset range

Provide normal operation, control setpoint and expected positive or negative peaks.

Temperature, pressure and mounting

Confirm continuous temperature, pressure, R3/4 or 3/4 NPT, insertion and maintenance access.

Controller and outputs

Specify an existing electrode input or a complete system with 4–20 mA, relays and Modbus RS485.

Confirm this information before an inquiry

Why are commercial model numbers such as POP-500 not used here?+

The two current technical files do not state a commercial model number. A model shown in a historical case is not assumed to be identical to the current configuration.

Are the ±2000 mV and ±1000 mV configurations interchangeable?+

No. Their materials, temperature limits, dimensions and mounting threads differ.

Can an ORP sensor connect directly to a PLC?+

A conventional electrode needs a compatible controller; the source also describes an optional analog-to-digital module. The complete online system provides 4–20 mA and Modbus RS485.

Why are equipment brands absent from the case images?+

The real project setting and equipment count are retained while third-party brands, company names and nameplates are neutralized for public use.
