Online turbidity analyzer selection center

Compare three immersion PTU sensors and two low-range flow-through PLTU analyzers for raw water, clarification, wastewater, filter outlet and finished water.

01

Select the optical range for the process

Low-level treated-water monitoring and high-range raw-water or wastewater monitoring place different demands on the optical path and cleaning arrangement. The expected range, particle characteristics, bubbles, mounting position and maintenance access should all be reviewed.

02

Confirm these conditions before selection

Normal and peak NTU

Select the optical configuration using both normal operation and upset conditions.

Process location

Raw water, a sedimentation tank, filter outlet and wastewater channel need different installation decisions.

Fouling and bubbles

Review cleaning frequency, flow velocity and mounting position to reduce false signals.

Materials and signals

Confirm freshwater or seawater materials and PLC/SCADA outputs.

Turbidity selection questions

Should I select an immersion or flow-through analyzer?+

Use the process point first: PTU immersion sensors fit raw water, wastewater and process water; PLTU flow-through models fit low-range filter outlet and finished water.

Do all five models have the same outputs?+

PTU and PLTU-700 sheets list three 4–20 mA outputs and three relays. PLTU-600 lists one 4–20 mA output and one relay.
