Fluorescence measurement for continuous monitoring

PFDO-800, PFDO-700, PFDO-600 and PFDO-500 use optical fluorescence quenching, which does not consume oxygen and does not require sample flow across the sensor. Selection depends on pressure, probe size, material, mounting and application.

Confirm these conditions before selection

Measurement basis

Confirm whether the control system uses mg/L, percent saturation or both.

Water and material

Specify wastewater, freshwater or seawater so the appropriate sensor material can be selected.

Mounting depth

Provide immersion arrangement, cable length, access and any cleaning requirements.

Control outputs

Confirm the number of 4–20 mA channels, relays and Modbus RS485 requirements.

Dissolved oxygen selection questions

Does the optical sensor consume oxygen?+

No. The fluorescence method does not consume oxygen and has no sample-flow requirement for the measurement principle.

Can the PFDO series integrate with aeration control?+

Yes. The documented transmitter provides three 4–20 mA outputs, configurable relays and Modbus RS485 for integration with control systems.
